Morton’s in Northbrook hosted a Steaks a Stand Against Hunger food drive.
People were able to donate without even leaving their cars.
Morton’s collected more than 6 large bins full of donations for the Northfield Food Pantry.
SkyRise Chicago hosted a fundraiser that challenged people to climb 103 flights of stairs at Willis Tower, or hand cycle the same distance. The money raised will go to the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.
More than twenty different individual and group belly dancers volunteered their time in a fundraising effort for PADS of Elgin.
PADS of Elgin provides emergency shelter to more than 450 homeless individuals every year.
On October 16th, the York Dukes held a food drive at their football game against Hinsdale Central. The team collected more than 1800 pounds of food and $1676. The collections were put in a truck and sent to the Northern Illinois Food Bank.
Over the weekend three Empire Beauty School salons celebrated National Beauty Day with $5 haircuts for charity.
All of the day’s proceeds were donated to Family Shelter Services in Hanover Park and the WINGS Shelter in Palatine.
